I have so much good news!

I have a busy week ahead of me! Today I’m going to go and see The Lion King in the theatre. I managed to get student seats – one for me and one for my aunt. We will also be going behind the scenes and having a Q&A with the cast. It’ll be so much fun! -squee-

I will have to study for another math midterm. Those are so annoying! I’ve got to do exceedingly well on this midterm, or I may end up failing the class. I’d rather not have to take that class again! I have to do this now, while I still have time to study. The test is on the week of Nov. 16, so I still have a little bit of time. I just hope that I get high enough marks on it in order to make up for the first midterm so that I can relax a little on the final exam.

Ohhh…exciting stuff! Yours truly may end up being in a college movie! In fact, I’m 85% sure that I’ll be getting the role. They were kind of desperate for an actress, as they need to get this film turned in some time in the next month. -shrugs-

Also, something that I’ve been drooling shamelessly over for the past week or so is the fact that I’m going to be able to see Celtic Thunder in their Take Me Home tour on Saturday. Just…oh. The boys – ahem, men – look as good from the back as they do in the front (I’ll admit it – there are some naughty thoughts there), their voices are musical (to say the least), and they have a string section to die for (alright, I’ll say it. More naughty thoughts).

Now that I’ve filled you in with my life, I’m off to go and tell other people what’s happening with me.

T-ra!

No, no, no.
No, no, no.

I can’t believe what I hear,
I can’t believe how they dare.
I’ve told them all my secrets, all my hope, all my desires.
All my hopes, all my desires.

Is a man to keep his word?
All my pleas have been unheard.
He the one might offer me my end,
This is the end!

In all of the hours I have struggled for my life,
He never helped me.
How can he forget nights he held me as his wife?
He the one might offer me my end,
This is the end!

I lived my life as my own,
Been true to what I have known.
I’ve cherished all I’ve had for all my hopes, all my desires.
He, the one, could clear my name.
He, the reason for my blame.
He, the one I love, will be my end
This is the end!

[vocalizing]

In all of the hours I have struggled for my life,
He never helped me.
How can he forget nights he held me as his wife?
He, the one, could clear my name.
He, the reason for my blame.
He, the one I love, will be my end.
This is the end!
My end!

I sew your shadow with my hair,
bind your shadow unto me.
By day or night your shall remain
by the triple goddess three.
I bind your shadow unto me.
Maiden, Mother, Hecate.
Dawn and noon and night black sea, free
you are but bound to me,
and you are mine eternally.

(stanza 2x)

(intrsumental)

I sew your shadow with my hair,
bind your shadow unto me.
By day or night your shall remain
by the triple goddess three.
I bind your shadow unto me.

I think that all females have been there at least once in their lives.  Those few, horrible days that can only come along with your period.  Certainly, not all days are like this when you are on your dot – just a few of them are.

You feel all achy, bloated, and sore.  Sounds kind of like a commercial, doesn’t it?  Days like that are one of the times when your just want to say in your pajamas and stay in bed.  Or, perhaps, stay in your pajamas and curl up on the sofa.  But, almost always, you have to go out there and face the world in some way or another.  School, work, dates, dentist appointments – something has to draw you out of the house and into the world.  Jeans to slacks to formal skirt – no matter what clothes you put on, it seems like everything is just going to press against your midsection and cause some sort of discomfort.

What if I was to say that there is a way to make days like this a little easier, and didn’t involve going to the store for PMS relief medicine?

Instead of going over to the medicine counter, make your way over to the maternity section and check out the trousers and skirts.  The top 5″ to 9″ are made out of a stretchy, soft material.  Because maternity clothes are designed for mothers, the clothes are softer and more gentle around the tummy.  You can see what I mean by looking at the skirts and trousers on Amazon.com and Walmart.com.

As odd as it sounds, try it.  Go out and buy yourself a nice maternity work skirt and wear it with a nice shirt that will cover the stretch part of it the next time you have a really bad PMS day.  I’m certain that physically you’ll feel more comfortable then if you were wearing your usual clothes.

Nail Polish and Buttons October 7, 2009

Ever notice how, generally, the first thing to fall of your brand new shirt is a button?  They just pop off anywhere, leaving you with a bad case of ‘gaposis,’ which isn’t cool no matter where you are located.

Here’s something that I’ve known about for a while that can help solve this problem, but I haven’t shared it with anyone.  It’s a more well-known trick, but very few people that I’ve run into know about it, so I thought that I’d share it all with you.

What you need for this to work is:

  • A buttoned piece of clothing (a button-up shirt, a button-up skirt, ect.)
  • Thread,  the color matching the piece of clothing (optional)
  • A sewing needle small enough to fit though a button (optional)
  • Clear Nail Polish (I use Professional Liquid Quick Dry 965 by Revlon)
  1. First things first.  If you are planning to sew on a button, or need to sew a button back into place, I suggest you do this now, as you won’t be able to go through with the rest of the steps until you sew the button securely in place.  If your shirt is brand new, you will probably skip this step.
  2. Once all of the buttons are sewn on securely, lay the clothing down on a flat surface.  I often use the kitchen table or a countertop for this.
  3. Shake the clear nail polish.  If you don’t have clear nail polish, run down to the local drug store and buy the inexpensive stuff.  Or, if you have a girlfriend/sister/mother/female friend/any other female in your life, see if you can rip off with their clear nail polish.  (Do not steal – borrow.)  I cannot stress CLEAR enough!  Using colored nail polish will stain the clothing.  If you spill clear nail polish, it will look like a water spot on your clothing.  If you spill colored nail polish, you will have a noticable stain on your clothing.
  4. Making sure that you have a small amount of clear nail polish on the brush, gently dab the bristles of the brush on the thread holding the button to the shirt.  I do this about once or twice to each button.
  5. Move onto the next button and repeat step #4 as needed.
  6. When done will all the buttons, wait for the polish to dry.  I find that this generally takes about 5 minutes.  I let it dry for 15 minutes, just to be absolutely certain that it is dry before wearing it.

I hope that this helps some of you keep your buttons on your shirt, and keeps the horrible ‘gaposis’ under control.

Gnocchi and my little New Age mind July 24, 2009

I am so happy!!!! I’d be squealing in joy if it weren’t for the fact that it would probably hurt my jaw to do that. Yesterday I was finally able to eat something other then yogurt and soup. Mom made some gnocchi (italian potato dumplings) in some butter, and even though it is cold I’ve been able to eat it without getting hurt. It takes so little to make me happy…

Oh, oh, oh! And now to share something that stimulated the little new age part of my brain. Scientists have done studies, and apparently the human body can literally glow. How awesome is that? I mean, it’s not like infrared (body heat) stuff, either. The human body actually produces a very low level of light that is “1,000 times less intense than the levels to which our naked eyes are sensitive.” And it’s not just humans, it’s all living things that emit a low level of light. Here, check out the article yourself – it’s on Yahoo! News.

Today is July 8, 2009.  Another way of phrasing that is 7/8/09.  Take out the 0 and / and you’re left with the numbers 7 8 9.  Now, unless you’re on military time, there will be two chances for this next bit to happen.  If you are awake at 4:56 today, then you will be awake for the numbers 4 5 6 7 8 9.

Isn’t that interesting?  A bit silly, maybe, but still interesting.

Enjoy this little tidbit today.  After all, this won’t happen again for another thousand years.

Hello USA!

I just wanted to say Happy Fourth of July to everyone.  I hope that today is fun and great for all of you.  I hope that you have a wonderful time with your family, friends, and pets with whatever you may do.  Have fun playing games or watching the fireworks, or even setting off a few of your own (assuming that they are allowed in your area).

Please, whatever may happen, do be safe.  ^.^  Having to make a trip to the hospital on a holiday is never any fun.

I’ll be spending the time with my family, as I’m still in TX.  We may even get the chance to light some fireworks ourselves, assuming our county will allow us to.  If the county doesn’t, then we may go over to a county that is allowing it and light fireworks there.  ^.^  Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

It amazes me how taking a trip out to a different part of the USA can change my view on my environment and my life. Right now, I’m on an out-of-town vacation in Texas, USA. I never realized just how beautiful everything can be out in the countryside. Coming from some place that is definately city, where I am right now is more certainly country. There are deer and squirells on the property! That should give some idea of just how far into the ‘country’ I am.

When I get the chance, I’ll post up a few of the pictures I’ve taken. I hope that they came out fairly well!

Until next time…

If You Feel Better by Emilie Autumn May 19, 2009

If you feel better
Telling me I’m cruel
Saying I’m unfeeling
I don’t mind

If it’s necessary
If it helps you out
Crying that I’m heartless
It’s alright

And I’m sorry to cause you so much pain
And I’m sorry to bring you down again
But I’ve reached the end
And I won’t fight anymore
I don’t know what you really want from me
But I don’t fit in your reality
How could any man be so blind
But if you feel better
I don’t mind

If you feel safer
Keeping to yourself
Placing trust in no one
I won’t cry

If it calms your conscience
Making me the guilty one
Take my reputation
It ain’t worth much
And it’s alright

And I’m sorry to cause you so much pain
And I’m sorry to bring you down again
But I’ve reached the end
And I won’t fight anymore
I don’t know what you really want from me
But I don’t fit in your reality
How could any man be so blind
But if you feel better
I don’t mind

Well, I’m sorry to cause you so much pain
And I’m sorry to bring you down again
But I’ve reached the end
And I won’t fight anymore
I don’t know what you really want from me
But I don’t fit in your reality
How could any man be so blind
But if you feel better
I don’t mind

Won’t make me sorry ’cause I’m cruel
Won’t hurt feelings I don’t have
Won’t break the heart that isn’t there, you’ll find

But if you feel better
Telling me I’m cruel
Saying I’m unfeeling
I don’t mind
I don’t mind
I don’t mind
